Bitter Sweet

Over the past week, our family has had an experience that I will call bitter sweet. My cutest grandpa in the whole wide world passed away. I am telling you, they don't get any more handsome than this guy! Although we are very sad at his passing, we are also so proud to say that we had so much time together. He was 98 years old, growing very weak, and more and more frustrated with every passing day. Oddly enough, he was doing pretty good, but he just had enough. I feel so lucky that I was able to have him around all this time. I remember kids throughout grade school losing their grandparents at such a young age, and I have had mine throughout my adult life. I am so lucky! The most important thing is that Kylee has been able to have these amazing grandparents as a part of her life.
I could go on and on about my wonderful grandparents, but I will just say again that I am the luckiest granddaughter in the world!!!

I'm sorry for your loss, you are very lucky that he has been around so long though! I lost one of my grandpas when I was a junior, but I still have the other three granparents. It's so awesome to have them around to meet their great grand daughter! Hope you're doing okay.

Sorry to hear Kim. Always hard to lose someone you love no matter the age. So special for both you and Kylee to know and love him!

I'm so sorry. My grandma mentioned this last week. I don't know what I will do when that day comes for me. But like you said, so many people do not get to really know their grandparents. Hope things are going well. I can't believe how big Kylee is!

I am so sorry to hear about your grandpa. You mentioned that this was coming, but it often doesn't prepare you for the loss. I hope you are hanging in there!
